Are these origin codes, or gamespot downloads, or both? The product details pages for these games is very confusing. For example, on the Syndicate page it says “This game requires the EA Origin client to install & play”, but then it also says “This game requires the gamespot app”. Surely an EA origin activated game would not also require the gamestop app, you just receive an origin activation key, right? But I’m not sure I want to take that risk.
It’s not a cut and dry anymore like it was on their old site design. Possibly because they haven’t updated all the descriptions for the games yet.
When it says EA Origin required, you get a key that activates on Origin. Usually you can go on the purchase history page and it’ll list out the activation key for you. You would use that to activate it on Origin.
There are also some Origin games that don’t require Origin but you can still activate those games on the Origin service using the cd key. Examples would be bad company 2 and dead space 2.
In the case of Syndicate, I guarantee you will need to activate the game on Origin.
