If you’re new to Steam Seasonal Sales:
There will be tons of games on sale throughout the sale. However, every day there will be a limited number of games listed as daily deals that come with deep discounts. So, the secret is to wait and see if the game(s) you want to buy pops up as a daily deal. If it doesn’t you just buy it during the last day of the sale, which is usually a repeat day. The repeat day is when they re-list a selection of the daily deals again.

There’s publisher packs that come with the entire catalog of games for a publisher, often at a pretty big discount. Usually it’s cheaper to pick up a publisher pack if you’re interested in a few games from a given publisher instead of buying each one separately. There’s also bundles of games that might have a common theme. Indie/Horror/etc.

For this current sale there are also Flash Sales, which have random start and end times. Between 6 – 12 hours each. (Not sure yet if they rotate the deals throughout the sale or if it’s just per day). In addition, you can vote for the deal that’s listed as the Community Choice deal. This is rotated every 8 hours.

I recommend putting in an amount you are willing to spend in your Steam wallet. The reason being your credit card company may flag your card for fraud if you make a bunch of random purchases. Instead you put the money in ahead of time and it shows up as only one purchase. Another reason is if you put in the maximum amount you’re willing to spend, you can budget yourself.

Amazon:
Amazon rep Tony has said they are going through and pricematching deals. If you’re outside of the US and you’re regional pricing seems high, definitely check Amazon first. They might beat a deal or two also. If you want it on Steam, definitely check to make sure the game uses Steamworks. Once the deals start coming in I’ll either make a seperate post or I’ll just update this with Amazon links.

I’ll update this thread as I get more info.
